Your manager has asked you to help the new teammate. How do you ensure you provide a supportive experience and give them everything they need so they are successful?

There are some general tasks to follow through with on Day One, but depending on the team your are on, your tasks and agendas will vary. We've split out the role/team-specific tasks here so you are only responsible for what applies to your new teammate. You and your manager will also be coordinating a number of side-by-sides for your new teammate. They don't have to all be with you but you'll help coordinate the sessions with topic agendas and documentation to ensure everything is getting covered. 

  • Day One

    • Introduce yourself to your new teammate and explain your role in their first months
    • Book regular daily meetings with the new teammate to check in and answer their questions
    • Help them build connections to adjacent teams with introductions
    • Encourage them to join a Network. Talk about the power of allyship for building community
    • Add them to any team/role-specific Slack channels they should be on - explain to them what information they will find on each channel and how they should utilize it in their day-to-day work
    • Check in with them to ensure they are completing their required training and their tasks - do they have any barriers or questions?

    Help your teammate connect with the Sales Team they support and their immediate team
